I like designing small websites, especially for those who are just starting out on the internet themselves. Some folks want to have a small home business presence online with an e-commerce store selling a few items. And others like personal websites showcasing their families, talents, or other favorite subjects.
While designing their sites, I try to teach them the basics of HTML so they will have the confidence to do some maintainence on their own; such as changing colors, adding text, adding new pages, and more. It does not take much HTML code to make a huge change to your site!

Payment arrangements can be: pay weekly based on work completed during the week, pay monthly based on work completed during the month, or pay at the completion of each individual project (such as adding all products or adding a new page).
[Note 2]: Monthly maintainence can include, but not limited to: managing link exchange requests as they come through, cleaning email accounts of spam, contact with hosting company as needed, keeping programs and scripts updated, checking site for dead external links, phone or instant messanger conferences, and more.
