Mother: Margaret Poland [b. abt 1856]
Married: 1878. Edge Hill, Christ Church, Liverpool.
Child: Lillian [b. 1879] = my great-grandmother
Child: Margaret P. [b. 1880 - 2 mos at time of census]

Head of House: Alex MacDowall [b. 1849]
Wife: Elizabeth Thompson [b. 1850] = William B. Thompson's sister]
Child: David L. [b. 1879]
Child: William H. Houghton [age 10] = from Elizabeth's first marriage =
Elizabeth Thompson Houghton MacDowell

Down the street, on the same census as above ...

Head of House: Thomas Thompson [b. abt 1829 in Ireland]
Wife: Martha [b. abt 1839] = could be 2nd wife and mom of William B. Thompson and step-mom of older sister, Elizabeth.

Update December 15: - Based on a copy of the marriage certificate between James W. Eyre and Lillian J. Thompson that I received in the mail today, the above Thompson family connection is correct. Will be creating charts and moving information from this page soon.


From the Woodbury Reporter, Woodbury, Litchfield Co., Connecticut [1877-1879]

Thursday September 5, 1878
Request for claims against the estate of Henry L. Taylor, late of Woodbury, by Hobart H. Mooris, administrator, dated 2 Sept 1878 at Woodbury District Probate Court.

Saturday January 11, 1879
Eddie Taylor froze one of his ears while going to the shop Friday morning.

Saturday February 8, 1879
Will[iam] Taylor hired a horse off the Capewill brothers last Saturday to go to Naugatuck. While there, he fell in with some old friends and proposed a ride to Bethany. Consequence: horse ran away, upsetting and clearing itself from the sleigh and throwing out the occupants. Taylor was severely bruised about the face and head. He now carries his eyes in a sling.
