And Just Who Is Barbara Eyre?
I was born in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, over by O'Hare airport, in a small city called Des Plaines, which is home to the
first McDonalds. In the mid 1990's, I attended Arizona State University, studying Physics, Geology, Mineralogy, and American Sign
Language. My intended career was to be a Planetary Geologist, combining my love of Astronomy with Geology. Alas, lack of money
kept me from obtaining my degree.
However, other opportunities slowly opened up as a result. I was introduced to the computer and internet at ASU. And I was hooked! I practically lived on mIRC chat. I created my first website in 2003 and have created several since. I am fairly self-taught in HTML. I do a lot of research and ask questions when I'm stumped. Thankfully, I live next door to a web designer and he has lots of patience, especially when I first started out and was trying to wrap my brain around tables! *grins*
I love to read, especially fantasy books by such authors as George R.R. Martin, Robert Jordan, Stephan Lawhead, and more. I enjoy watching sci-fi and horror related movies and TV shows. Since I recently got on cable modem for my internet connection, I find myself watching a lot of the classic Doctor Who episodes. Let's see ... Oh! I love classic rock and oldies music. The Moody Blues are my all-time favorite band. I cross stitch. I want to learn how to bead jewelry and such. I used to have a ghost hunting team and paranormal website (that was the first website I created). And, don't get between me or my cheesecake or cream cheese - someone may get hurt! *wink*
